Dover U 13s made it 13 wins out of 13 as they dispatched Herne Bay at Tilmanstone in the Kent Youth League. They started quickly and the Bay keeperade two 1v1 saves in the first 5 minutes from Ason Limbu and then Tyler Watson. Limbu, however opens the scoring just minutes later after George Hunt played a fantastic ball in behind the Bay defence. Limbu took the ball in his stride before smashing it under the dive of the keeper.

Watson grabbed his first of the afternoon after racing clear of the Herne Bay defence and finding the bottom corner with his low drive. Dover missed more chances before Watson claimed his second. Again latching on to a George Hunt pass, he burst clear of the Herne Bay defence before scooping the ball over the head of the onrushing keeper.

Herne Bay rallied and earned themselves a goal after Leighton Murray miskicked at the far post. Freddie Marsh, in the Dover goal had no chance with the strike into the top corner.

After half time Dover drove forward but could not find the right finish which have Herne Bay some confidence. They had a chance themselves as they got in behind the Dover defence, but Marsh was able to beat the ball away when one on one with the attacker.

It was the Dover keeper whose long kick forward was flicked on by a Herne Bay player, that set up Watson’s hat-trick. He found himself in behind the Bay defence once more and drove an emphatic finish into the bottom corner to compete his second hat-trick in two games.

The game was played in fantastic spirit by by teams in blustery and wet conditions. There were many outstanding performances, but Harley Scrivener and Tyler Watson were men of the match.

Men of the match: Harley Scrivener and Tyler Watson.
