U13’s first away game of the season today and they were up against a well organised Canterbury side who made it very difficult for us to dictate any play or find any rhythm.

Athletic twice went behind before levelling again with goals from Qimmarie Thompson who was causing so many problems on the wing and Wade Hughes with a neat finish slotting past the keeper.
When they finally strung some passes together we went ahead with a well taken strike from Alfie Wilkins shooting across the keeper and finding the corner of the goal. However, Canterbury fought hard and pushed higher and higher up the pitch and equalised at the end for a share of the points.

A tough and frustrating game but in the end a fair result and pleased that despite not playing our best we still come away with a point from the game.
