Dover U13s continued to play scintillating football as they demolished Margate FC 5-0 at Tilmanstone. Dover had the early pressure, and although Margate worked hard they could just not find a way past the Dover defence.

Dover squandered a few early chances, but on 20 minutes a shot from Rory Sutcliffe deflected to Ned Odlin. His first time shot from the edge of the box with his weaker left foot found the bottom corner giving the ‘gate ‘keeper no chance.

The second goal came from Ason Limbu, who finished off an excellent Dover move by rounding the keeper before finishing from a tight angle.

Tyler Watson completed the first half scoring again by going around the keeper before slotting home following another fine Dover move.

Margate started brightly in the second half, but their persistence went unrewarded, as firstly the Dover back four, and then Freddie Marsh in the Dover goal were determined to keep their first clean sheet of the season.

Dover took complete control with the fourth goal. James Hardman and Ason Limbu combined well down the right hand side, and the cross into the box caused confusion and was finally cleared by the Margate defence. The ball fell to Sutcliffe who controlled the ball before firing over the keeper and into the net from more than 20 yards.

Watson completed the scoring running into a fantastic through ball from Zion Gabriel. He took in on his stride before going around the keeper and tapping in number five. Fin Loane came on and put in a solid performance at right back against his old side.

With excellent displays from every member of the team it was difficult to select a man of the match – so we picked two! Charlie Bell at Centre back had an outstanding game, as did Harry Sharman in the holding midfield role.
