Dover were welcomed by Ashford United for their 13th game of the season. The game started slow for Dover and the struggle for some to adapt to the big Homelands pitch was obvious. Dover again managed to gift the other team a goal with a pass being intercepted by the Ashford striker to slot passed the goalkeeper to put Ashford 1-0 up. This sparked some life into the Young Whites and for the last 15 minutes were on the front foot and trying to play. The equaliser came at the hand of some good pressing from the midfield who won the ball back and slotted it into Dover’s Top Scorer George Nikaj who manoeuvred into a shooting opportunity and put it in the bottom corner to make it 1-1. After that equaliser Dover carried the momentum forward with some excellent pressing from Taylor Sinnock (who was carrying an injury) who won the ball and played it into Skipper Owen Armstrong who played it into George Nikaj’s feet, who again cleverly moved to create space to shoot and just like his first buried it in the bottom corner of the net at the stroke of half time.

The 2nd half was pretty much a different story and Ashford came out and started taking the game to Dover. With a change of formation midway through the 2nd half to try and kill the game off, the final 15 minutes we could see the midfield were losing their legs on this huge Homelands pitch. But again Dover dug deep with another excellent display from Arthur Clarke and Bailey Wadhams at the back Dover held on to gain another crucial 3 points.
