Our newly formed u13 squad met today to compete at the local Dover Rangers 6-aside tournament. Playing a ‘year up’ it was aimed at providing a real physical test which for some was their first game in a Dover shirt.
What they lacked in size and strength they more than made up for technically with a number of opposition coaches applauding their ability and match play. They impressively played their way into the semi finals only narrowly missing out on penalties to the eventual cup winners. Fantastic effort by all players and exciting to watch as they battled amongst the older teams. The coaches will hope to build on the success of this tournament as they kick start their pre-season campaign this week.
