The Under 15s looked to continue their recent run of good results with a trip to Sheppey this week. Always a difficult place to come but the squad were full of confidence after last week’s win. Dover started well and were 1-0 up after 8 minutes. Good combination from the front two saw Jensen Underwood play in Lewis Saunders who finished calmly passed the static Sheppey keeper. Dover really dominated the possession and Sheppey relying on balls over the top to their striker on the break. The 2nd came after 23 minutes, the same combination saw Underwood play in Saunders who beat the advancing keeper to the ball and finished into an empty net. It remained 2-0 Dover at the break thanks to some heroics from Keeper Dan Smith as Sheppey had their chances too.

10 minutes into the 2nd half Dover lost midfielder Wes Chadwick to a horrific leg break in a brave tackle near the halfway line, X-rays afterwards show a broken fibula and we wish him well in recovery . Thanks to parents and the referee for assistance.

Both sides struggled to compete after this and the game was played out with player’s minds still affected by Wes’ injury, but Dover still needed late heroics from keeper Smith who was solid and brave in a few 1 on 1s to keep his first clean sheet of the season intact. Dover saw out the match to win 2-0. Thats 3 wins from 4 now. Win dedicated to Wes Chadwick, he will be missed and we wish him a quick recovery.
