Today’s County Cup fixture saw both teams competing to enter the 4th round. The sides had never met prior to this encounter, with High flying Dover on an unbeaten run which spanning 9 games, saw the manager change the starting line up in order to give opportunities to squad players who had featured in the starting line-up for some time so far this season. The game began brightly with both sides looking dangerous on the attack. On 5 minutes K-Sports take an early led capitalizing on a GK positioning error, one shot on target one goal. Dover immediately looked to respond where they saw several chances fly wide of the opposition goal. On 20 Minutes another fleeting attack from the away side hit the back of the net making it 0-2. Dover for the first time this season looked shell shocked. A number of defensive errors & mis-judgements led to a 0-3 score line at half time.

At this stage it would be fair to say Dover had attained possession states in their favour of nearly 60% to K-Sports 40%. Dover had 8 goal scoring opportunities, but just could not find the net.

Second half Dover started with instant presence once again, creating goal scoring opportunities after opportunity. Dover had a further 11 goal scoring opportunities 7 of which were clear cut, but again still could not find the net, this included hitting the wood work 3 times and missing out of a clear penalty after the decision went the opponents way. The scoring was completed 10 minutes from time when K-sports managed to break away on a rare counter attack slotting home from 18 yards after further errors from an out of sorts Dover display.
