Dover Athletic U13s kept up their 100% league record with a hard earned victory away at Hythe. Initially it was all Dover with Connor Deeks causing all sorts of problems down the Dover left. It was Rory Sutcliffe however who opened the scoring. A scramble in the Hythe box fell to Sutcliffe who set it back to Tyler Watson. His shot, was diverted in off Suctliffe to open the scoring. Watson got the second himself as he got in behind the Hythe defence and smashed the ball into the far corner past the helpless Hythe keeper.Dover had several further chances to score in the first half, but failed to capitalise on any of them.Hythe came out in the second half rejuvenated. After failing to get a shot on target in the first half they piled on the pressure at the start of the second. Freddie Marsh, in the Dover goal, eased the pressure with some excellent catches from corners, and his distribution was superb, throwing the ball to feet on the half way line.Hythe kept up the pressure, but the Dover defence held firm with Louie Procopi, Charlie Bell, skipper Jake McCarthy, Connor Rafferty, Ollie Childs and man of theatch James Hardman all putting in excellent shifts to maintain a clean sheet.Dover  began to get back into the game and Ned Odlin, Harley Scrivener and Leighton Murray took back control of the midfield, creating several chances in the final 20 minutes that were again squandered. Ason Limbu and McCarthy combined well down the left and provided some decent balls into the box, but they just could not find another goal and the final score remained 2-0.

Man of the match: James Hardman
