After suffering back-to back defeats Dover got their season back on track with a comfortable win over Ramsgate to maintain their challenge for the Kent League.

On a big pitch at the Southwood stadium the opening exchanges were hard fought with both sides looking to gain the initiative, with both teams quick to close down the opposition. As the half wore on Dover began to gain more possession of the ball and dictate the play, but were perhaps guilty of not releasing the ball early enough to create any clear cut chances. With a few minutes of the half remaining they learnt from this and were rewarded when Finlay Jarman-Hume won a midfield tackle, finding Dylan Tubb whose through ball found Oliver Nye to calmly finish and give Dover a first half lead.

As expected the start of the second half saw a renewed effort from the Ramsgate side, but the new centre-back partnership of Oliver Griffiths and the composed man of the match Hayden Wood thwarted the opposition, and they were aided by good handling by goalkeeper Ryan King. This was the only time Ramsgate really threatened, as Dover then started to dominate the play against a tiring opposition. Substitute Will Giles showed real energy, and it was his efforts in chasing down the Ramsgate defence that enabled Tubb to receive the ball on the edge of the area to score the vital second goal with a fine strike. Dover continued to control the match and perhaps should have added to the scoring, but in the end they had to be content with a good 2-goal win.
