Dover hosted Canterbury today looking for a 3rd straight league win against the team they beat last week. Hoping to avoiding going behind again Dover pressed and only a fine save from Canterbury GK preventing Dover taking a lead inside the first 2mins. Dover were punished for the miss a couple of mins later as Canterbury struck to take the lead after good work on the right. Not to disappointed Dover responded to what is becoming a reoccurring theme of conceding first. After some good pressing from the energetic Regan in the middle Dover drew level as the Canterbury defender put the ball in his own net. Couple of mins later and Dover went ahead in stunning fashion as Ethan picked the ball out from 25yards to hit a fantastic strike into the top corner. Buoyed by the goals Dover played some good football and were soon 3-1 up after some good pressing on the right, the ball fell to Carson in the box to slot the ball in. Things got even better just before the end of the half as the returning Derry was set free to score his first goal of the season with a great strike into the top corner from just inside the box. 4-1 up at half time in what was one of the best halves in terms of finishing Dover have produced. The second half saw Dover take their foot off the ball as Canterbury kept the game competitive. Markus Joss and Dan at the back defended well to ensure the game finished as it started in the the second half. 3 league wins now in a row should give Dover confidence now to start looking up the league now at the teams ahead of them.
